UDISHA  : World Bank Assisted Training Programme – (ICDS)

Udisha, which in Sanskrit means the first rays of the new dawn, is the nation-wide training component of the World Bank Assisted Women and Child Development
 

Outline
  • Training of ICDS functionaries is one of the most vital components of the ICDS Programme. UDISHA, the new dawn in training is a dynamic, responsive, human resource development programme pulsating with innovations.
  • To develop ICDS functionaries into agents of Social change.
  • Udisha recognises social mobilisation as a critical tool for advocacy and communication on issues such as child rights, malnutrition prevention, disability prevention, reduction of gender disparities, empowerment of women and their communities. 

Present Status of Training Centres AWTCs/ MLTCs

  • 2 Anganwadi Training Centres one in Shillong covers East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi District. One in Tura covers East Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills.

  • 1 Middle level Training Centre at the Headquarter Shillong
